Electric car is green transport in the21st century,whose technology is currently anew and important one researched in the world. The performance of electric cars,especially in high temperature environment of maximum speed, maximum gradability,depends largely on the heat load of the cooling system. Thus improving the efficiencyof electric vehicle cooling system performance is necessary method that promotes thedevelopment of electric vehicle reliability and safety. With the continuousdevelopment and application of electronic control technology in modern society, theenergy saving, intelligent control will be the future development direction of theelectric car cooling system.In this paper, through the analysis of cooling system forelectric car drive system, we adopt water cooling design, put forward reasonablecooling scheme and the intelligent cooling control system for electric vehicle drivesystem.Sensorless brushless direct current motor(sensorless BLDCM) is a new type ofmotor, who integrates many advantages of AC motor and DC motor. Its wide speedrange, high efficiency, small volume, big power density, reliable operation and strongcontrollability features make it the researched focus and direction of the electricvehicle control system.Choose this one motor driving intelligent electronic pump inelectric car cooling control system so that we can design excellent performance,reliable efficiency and small volume that is easy installed electronic pump.Through the analysis of thermal of electric vehicle drive system, this paper putsforward the performance requirements of the cooling system, the appropriate coolingcontrol system scheme and the control strategy of intelligent electronic pump motorin cooling system, researches fault types of electronic water pump motor and relevantprotection method, designs and develops the electronic water pump motor controllerwhich achieve the closed loop feedback control of the motor’s current and speed andthe communication based on CAN bus and SAE J1939, optimizes the hardware andsoftware of motor controller so that the pump efficiency may reach32%.Bycalculation we infer pump efficiency that demonstrates the cooling reliability of the electric car cooling control system.Verify the feasibility of this kind of researchmethods to analyze the cooling system, as well as the design of cooling controlsystem for the electric car drive system provides efficient, reliable and intelligentcooling to ensure the driving safety of the electric car.The controller, through a large number of performance testing, was confirmedthe safety and reliability and achieved product level design and development with thecooperation of PURIBO auto parts co., LTD. and Dongfeng EV co., LTD..Thedesigned intelligent electronic water pump has high portability and good coolingperformance which is applicable to many cooling systems of electric vehicle.
