As one of the new type structure transmissions, Double ClutchTransmission (DCT), owing both high transmission efficiency andexcellent shift quality has become the focus of automotive transmissiontechnology research. Moreover, as DCT is developed from manualtransmission, it suites the manufacture background of China.The reach based on the research funded by National Natural ScienceFoundation of China(51175326)”Study on the control of dry dual clutchstrategy based on both dynamic and comprehensive optimal of shiftquality and the working life”. According to the DCT system withindependent research and development, this paper main study on theOptimization of clutch engagement, the main research work is as follows:A normally open dry dual clutch system, after the analysis of thestructure characters and the work principle,the dynamic model of thepowertrain with dry DCT is presented, which is comprised of an engine, a dry dual-clutch, a actuator of DCT, and the transfer torque characteristicmodel of the dry dual clutch friction plate. Moreover, with a detailedanalysis of the power transmission line, the kinematics equation isestablished in the process of shifting, which provide theoretical foundationfor the study of gear engagement process.Set a lifting gear from one to two as an example, using theMatlab/Simulink to simulate the shift engagement process. And accordingto the simulation results, qualitative analysis of the effect of changes waysto control the torque distribution on vehicle performance has made.According to the control requirements, the actuator controller isdesigned. The friction wear identification algorithm, combined with theclassical PID method and through adjusting the actuator system to realizethe compensation of the friction plate’s volume, at last, accurate outputtorque of the two clutches can be acquired.The study presented in this paper plays an important role in thedevelopment of dry dual-clutch transmission in China, and it is significantto propel the industrialization of dry dual-clutch transmission.
