Opposed to the traditional periodic maintenance, condition-based maintenance canbring huge economic and social benefits to the power generation companies in themaintenance and repair of hydropower unit. As a necessary part of condition-basedmaintenance, the performance of data acquisition system is drawing more and moreattentions. Aiming at the demand characteristics of condition-based maintenance about thehydropower unit, it is always one of key focuses to design and develop a highperformance data acquisition system in engineering field.Aiming at the demands of condition-based maintenance about the control equipmentsof hydropower, this paper designs a data acquisition system according to the compositionprinciples and performance requirements of the data acquisition system, using the chipTMS320F2812as the core processor, with high-precision analog-digital conversion andfast Ethernet communication interface.This paper designs the hardware platform of the data acquisition system. The designof F2812chip’s peripheral circuits is presented in detail, including the power supplycircuits, the clock circuits and the interface circuits of the external RAM. This paperdemonstrates the advantages of using the SPI bus based ADC, and completes the designsof each module, such as the A/D module, digital inputs module and frequencymeasurement module. After analyzing the TCP/IP protocol and the characteristics ofEthernet, based on the discuss of TCP/IP protocol implementation, this paper uses chipW5100as the network communication solution between the device and the PC,which hashardware TCP/IP protocol.This paper designs the system software based on CCS platform. The characteristicsof the software design are analyzed on three aspects, which is the system main program,the interrupt system and the CMD file. This paper discusses the major functional programrealizations by different modules, including the system initialization, the measurementmodule, the output module and the Ethernet communication module.Based on this paper, the device used for data acquisition is developed andimplemented. The functionality and performance indicators of this device can satisfy thepractical needs according to the testing.
