Research On The Artistic Expression Of The Structural System Of Contemporary Convention And Exhibition Building

In the21stcentury, with the continuously renewing conceptions of creation, theartistic expression of architecture is indeed demonstrated variedly. However, theimpact of structure technology on architecture design has brought more space forcreating the manifestation of architecture. Initiated by Le Duk, and developed byNervi, the style of structure manifestation has been gaining more and more attentionlately. Meanwhile, the artistic expression of the structural system is one importantbeauty appreciation realm of contemporary convention and exhibition building’screation. Therefore, the thesis is to research the artistic expression of the structuralsystem of convention and exhibition building. To analyze the cross contents of thearchitectural space and the artistic expression of the structural system in conventionand exhibition building not only provides theoretical reference for further researches,but also has made the beauty of convention and exhibition building be appreciatedboth technically and artistically.From the interdisciplinary angles of the two areas of structure and architecture,based on the excellent examples of contemporary convention and exhibition building,it not only analyzes the artistic expression of the structural system itself, but alsoemphasizes its integration with the space creation of convention and exhibitionbuilding, with the research methods of analysis, induction and interdisciplinarysynthesis.The thesis launched the research from4parts, including the question and subject,the preparation of knowledge, theoretical analysis, and the theoreticalconstruction.The first part is to raise the topic. According to the common problems inthe structural expression of architecture creation of contemporary convention andexhibition building, the artistic expression of the structural system of contemporaryconvention and exhibition building is defined as the object of the research. Based onthe theories and researches of other people, the research is to be carried out from theinterdisciplinary angles of two areas, which focuses on the integration of thestructural system’s artistic expression and contemporary convention and exhibition building’s space creation. The second part is the content of which includes analyzingthe characteristics and types of the structural system of contemporary convention andexhibition building, explaining the relevant conceptions of the artistic expression ofstructural system, as well as discussing the wrong regions of the artistic expression ofstructural system. The third part is the subject part of the thesis. It combines thediscussion of the artistic expression of structural system of contemporary conventionand exhibition building with three aspects-structural forms, function space andvision space of the architecture.The fourth part draws a conclusion which demonstrates both the accomplishmentsand deficiencies of the research.
