Study On The Current Situation Of Preservation And Development Of Zhoucun Ancient Town

Zhoucun Ancient Town is the only well-preserved historic sites in northern areawith a rich cultural connotation; it has a very high value in history culture, art andscience. To protect and use it in scientific and comprehensive means is not only theinheritance of traditional culture, but also it can prominent the city features ofZhoucun district. It also can enhance people’s understanding of culture.From the beginning of2001, Zhoucun district started on the work of protectingand using on the Zhoucun Ancient Town, they planned it carefully and scientificallyand developed it in a comprehensive way. The ancient architectures in Ancient Townwere protected and repaired, and the blocks’ original shape was recovered. They alsostudied the culture in Ancient Town deeply. As a tourist attraction, Zhoucun AncientTown was opened in2004. It has brought a great income to Zhoucun government inthese years. Until now, Zhoucun Ancient Town has had a good grades, the work ofprotecting the ancient architectures has also achieved good effects. But we also havesome questions. If the ancient architectures in Ancient Town have been protected veryperfect? If the mean of using it as a tourist attraction is a good idea? If somebody elsecan learn something from the work of protecting and using it? How the Ancient Towncan has a sustainable development? Because we have these questions, so we need todo a research on the current situation of Zhoucun Ancient Town carefully. This papertakes Zhoucun Ancient Town as object of research, I introduced the overview and thevalue of Ancient Town firstly, and then I descript its development course from ancienttimes to the present. Then I gave a detailed analysis on the work of Ancient Townbetween protection and using carefully. Next I introduce the current situation of theprimary area in Ancient Town through my own investigation. I used a lot of picturesand numbers to descript it. In the end, I had a complete summary to descript betweenthe advantages and the disadvantages, and I gave it some my own suggestions. In thispaper I wrote some my own views, such as the summary of Ancient Town and thecomplete survey and so on.
