Now, China’s bridge construction is showing a "leapfrog" development situation, whilesharing crossings convenient, frequent accidents in bridge engineering also attracted people’sattention. Especially in recent years, several relatively large bridge collapsed cause adversesocial impact. Although over the past decade China’s bridge risk assessment is alreadyunderway, forming a number of theories and methods, the point of view of the abovecircumstances, these theories and methods still have some defects that causing we can notcompletely give early warning effectively. By summing up the bridge accident in recent years,we can see that in the bridge construction process there are so many risk factors, the riskassessment of this stage there is insufficient,further research and improvement is needed.In this paper, we study the previous results, combining the characteristics of the stage ofbridge construction projects, researching the theoretical framework and methods of bridgeconstruction risk assessment, pointing at advantages and disadvantages of various methods inrisk identification process, we introduce a new method of risk identification-Correlationdegree analysis, and then combining the old and the new method to form a subjective andobjective identification method, in order to optimize the bridge construction risk assessment.And then using this assessment methods to assess one special risk of a bridge engineering asan example. At the same time, on the basis of bridge construction risk acceptance criteria,we build the bridge construction risk decision-making principles and decision criteria, andthen discuss how to determine the project trade-offs and how to select the best risk responsestrategies, which provides an important reference for risk decision makers.By optimizing the bridge risk identification method, this paper achieves the goal of therisk evaluation optimization. This method can not only make full use of objective statisticaldata, but also can give full play to the rich experience assessment experts, that make riskidentification more scientific and reasonable, and then make foundation for the next riskassessment work.
