Water shortage in our country is serious, and distribution of water resources is unfairboth in time and space. Due to speed up the pace of modernization,people do the pollution onrivers and lakes that makes limited surface water quality deteriorated and the shortage ofwater resources of conflict further intensified. At present, problems of water resources hasbecome the main restricting factors effecting on our country’s economic development, socialstability and improvement of the ecological environment. So the conservancy construction asa guarantee of social and economic development is a major strategic measures in our country.In order to alleviate the situation of water resources at present, more and more waterconveyance projects of long distance occur in our country. However, in the long-distancewater delivery project, tube blasting are common problems because of improper measures ofpipe water hammer protection,causeing unnecessary economic loss and waste of waterresources. Water hammer wave velocity as one of the important parameters of hydraulictransient process, is one of the important factors that effects on pressure increases of waterhammer, so the research of twater hammer wave velocity have significant meaning forhydraulic transient process. This thesis studied for the influence of wave velocity in thehydraulic transient process, Long-distance water delivery project, through two different waysof Long-distance water delivery and combined with the engineering practice.(1) Introduces the basic concepts of water hammer in long-distance water delivery, theresearch results of water hammer and water hammer wave velocity at home and abroad andthe development process of theoretical derivation.(2) The article discusses the present calculation method of water hammer is thecharacteristic line method, and detailed introduces the calculating method of the derivationprocess. In order to make readers more clear understanding of bridge the water hammer againflow, this paper also introduces the characteristics of the water hammer and the protectionpoints of water hammer.(3) This paper introduces the basic theory of water hammer wave velocity and thedevelopment process of calculation formula, analysises the common influence factors ofwater hammer wave velocity and introduces the selection problem in long-distance waterdelivery project.(4)With a B and D line gravity flow project in Shaanxi Long-distance water deliveryproject, through the analysis of hammer calculation,this paper analyses the effect of wavevelocity on increasing water hammer pressure in transient process of gravity water that is in Qi Jiazi pump station project in long-distance water delivery project, through the analysis ofhammer calculation,this paper analysisied the effect of wave velocity on increasing waterhammer pressure in transient process of pump pressure flow that is in Long-distance waterdelivery project. The main method is to change the material of pipe in order to analysis theproblems of water hammer boost in different water hammer velocity in the same conditions.The purpose of this paper is to let the people know that how the wave velocity influencewater hammer boost in the hydraulic transient process. And this paper also introduces the wayhow to choosing pipe material in the long-distance water delivery project. I believe that theresults of this research can be helpful on the futher development of water hammer protectionwork.
