Featured with low ground contact pressure, strong climbing ability and capacity oftravelling with load, crawler cranes are widely used in equipment installation andengineering construction. With the government increasingly stringent requirements forthe operating safety of crawler cranes, more and more emphasis is given to the safetydesign and safety control in the design of crawler cranes.The design of crawler cranes includes the selection of the overall scheme, thedetermination of technical parameters, the mechanism design, the calculation of thestrength and stability of structural parts and the calculation of the stability of completemachines. It is one of the basic requirements for the design of crawlers to ensureadequate overturn resistant stability of crawler cranes. It is required in the crane designspecifications to check the overturn resistant stability of crawler cranes. In this thesis, theauthor mainly studies the impact of the overturn resistant stability of complete machineson the lifting performance of crawler cranes.In this thesis, first the author accordance with the design specifications, ascertain thebasic principles in the calculation of the overturn resistant stability of complete machines,the classification of cranes and the determination of the conditions for checking andcalculation, the derivation of the formulae for the calculation of the overturn resistantstability, and the determination of the loading coefficient, load combination anddangerous edges. Then, the author establishes the model for the calculation of theoverturn resistant stability of complete machines base on the matters..Next, the author uses Visual Basic6.0as the software development platform,establishes the mathematical model for the calculation of the overturn resistant stabilityof complete crawler cranes, writes the calculation program, and carry out thecalculation software to work out the load control table of the overturn resistant stabilityof crawler cranes.Finally, the author verifies the accuracy of the calculated overturn resistant stabilityof complete crawler cranes through experimental tests, more accurately calculates theoverturn resistant stability of complete crawler cranes by the means of advanced computer numerical simulation and experimental tests, and works out the load controltable of the overturn resistant stability of the complete machine of Model YTQU160asan example.
