With the continuous social advance and technological development, crane is increasingly developing toward large, tall, gentle, lattice, required high performance increasingly. Choosing mechanism motion parameter directly influence the cranes’ stable and secure at work; analysis on ths stability of boom is difficult in the structure design and calculation of a large crane, with the major-minor structure of the crane jib boom is more difficult for Chinese designer to design and analysis crane. Therefore, the research on the key parameters of the crane is necessary.In this paper, the determination of kinematic parameters (hoisting speed, Radius changing speed, Rotating speed, walking speed),from the stability and security, according to different mechanism, to go by dynamic load lifting deflection angle and the whole machine stability as the design basis, through the establishment of dynamic equation, to determine machanism parameters at a reasonable value, to provide a reliable basis for the preliminary design.The stability analysis of boom considered the stability of warp of single boom and assemble boom out of plane, considered the jib length conversion factor to analysis stability. First, use the calculation of equivalent moment of inertia, tap the apered trusses into constant section trusses. Stability analysis of the single boom, considered two cases of a single conservative force and a number of conservative forces, through the establishment of a balance equation, using the method of calculating the Euler critical force, determine the arm length conversion factor.To analysis the stability of assemble boom with major-minor structure, by the theoretical framework based on arm, determine the jib length conversion factor out of plane, with specific examples given calculation method and procedure.After the above analysis and research, the paper designed with Visual Studio2005platform, VB2005and Matlab7.01as programming language, developed a motion parameters software system, through the validation of a model, the user-friendly software system, functions meet the initial design requirements.
