The nitrogen oxide is one of the main atmospheric pollutants, which brings seriousdamage to human health and ecological environment. Coal combustion for power plants isthe major source of nitrogen oxides, SCR technology is the trend of gas denitrationtechnology. Catalyst is the core of the power plant SCR system, which accounts for aboutone-third of its investment. Only through effective catalyst management, can we guaranteethe performance of the system and make SCR running cost to lowest. In order to reduce thecost of catalyst and improve safety and economic behavior for the operation of SCR system,the catalyst is bound to need periodic performance test. Besides we should consider thecatalyst management strategies, taking effective and timely replacement or regenerationmeasures.First, the thesis introduces the denitrification performance test and activity detectionexperiments. Through these two ways we can get data about the activity and SO2/SO3conversion ratio. After analysis of shortcomings for the present commonly used activitydetection experiments, then we bring SCR performance calculation, which combines dataof the denitrification performance test and activity detection experiments for correcting theactivity detection result. The correction computing method increases the accuracy forcatalyst activity and SO2/SO3conversion ratio, which provides the guarantee for thepower plant in the plan of catalyst management.Analyzing the defect of existing catalyst management strategy, combining with thepower plant SCR process, we put forward the catalyst optimization calculation algorithmand theory. Through the catalyst optimization algorithm, we can caculate NOXand SO3concentration of SCR reactor export. After that the effect of regeneration or replacing willbe made sure in advance. Then we can compare a variety of catalyst management schemes.We determine the optimal solution according to the economic costs of each scheme basedon expense-benefit analysis methods for a600MW coal-fired units denitration project.Based on SCR performance calculation and optimization calculation, we developthecatalyst management system for pulerized power plants. The main functions of this system are the registration for power plant information, record for SCR system and catalystinformation, catalysts correction computing and management optimization.
