Creating Space And Environment For Facilities For The Elderly In Minnan Region

According to the international definition of aging, since2000, the populationover the age of60of China’s population has more than10percent of the country’stotal population, and the sixth census data show that the aging population has reached13.26%, which indicates that China has already stepinto the aging society. TheMinnan region of southern China regional characteristics in the region, its naturalenvironment, economic level, the aging population, all among the nation can be seenthat the research on the facilities for the elderly of Minnan is urgency and necessity.Xiamen, Quanzhou, Zhangzhou, Minnan are typical cities in Minnan, which,Xiamen City, as of the end of June2008, its aging population has reached16.1%ofthe total population in Xiamen City, Zhangzhou and Quanzhou is also close to thisdata, far exceeding the national average, so I selected the facilities for the elderly ofthree cities as the main object of research facilities for the elderly study combinedwith the Taiwan region, the study of the southern region have guiding significance forthe whole National Radiation.This article take the form of a questionnaire to conduct research combined witha data access method to understand older people’s physiological, psychological,behavioral characteristics and demand for facilities for the elderly. With theunderstanding of the basis of the elderly body, mind, and spirit needs, and from theold facilities for the elderly point of view of space, atmosphere and facilities forenvironmental needs analysis, making the article into two parts, research on indoorand outdoor space and environmental. In Space Research of the facilities for theelderly, the sub-chapter discusses the functional orientation of the space within thefacilities for the elderly, spatial composition characteristics analysis of how to createthe atmosphere of mental and physical needs of older persons space and the kind ofspace to adapt to a variety of size and pattern of facilities for the elderly composition;in the environmental study of the facilities for the elderly, sub-section discusses thephysical environment for older persons and the body, mind, environment, accordingto the the Minnan the cultural characteristics, the characteristics of religious beliefs,the actual research results and other factors to come up with some of the environmentto create a guiding principles and methods.
