Our country already in2003formally entered the old age society, the aging of thepopulation growing, related design of residential building for the aged standards started toimplement, related to nursing facilities and safety environment construction lags behindrelatively, the existing housing can not meet the needs of the elderly. Our country existingolder residential indoor environment with a lot of problems, especially the general familyhousing, without considering the use of elderly persons, resulting in home care of elderlypeople living in existence safety hidden danger. On the living environment of the agedsecurity design not only solve the elderly using a functional problem, more important is tocreate a meet the elderly psychological needs, but also comfortable, safe for older peopleliving environment.As people’s living standards improve and the strengthening of foreign exchange, more ofthe design concept of the elderly that we recognized and accepted, concerned about thepsychological needs of the elderly for the elderly design and feel, an important aspect of thedesigner to consider. This paper to analyze the physiological characteristics of the elderly andpsychological characteristics, combined with the ergonomics and psychology for the elderly,elderly behavior, environmental behavior, barrier-free design, a series of theoretical studies,and summarized the elderly motor function, metabolism, sexual function, sensory functionsignificantly decreased; the daily activities of the elderly are mainly family-centered activitiesradius with the physical decline gradually shorten, while the elderly activities, gatheringtiming, regional. To analyze the cognitive processes of older persons, the elderly mechanicalmemory ability, long-term memory does not decay; intelligence will be some attenuation withage, the degree of attenuation is not large; the learning ability of older persons is relativelyweak, especially on appliances and other operations, takes a long time to master, but for thegame of chess, sword dance, dancing, learning is relatively easy. Analysis of elderly emotions,feelings, strong emotional experience, prone to the negative sense, to meet the needs of olderpeople exchanges, and a good way to increase the sense of belonging to the family andcommunity to solve their negative emotions.
