Based on life cycle assessent(LCA), mathematic models were respectively established for energy consumption of macro-building system and micro-buildings in this paper, analyzing the energy consumption during total life cycle stage of building. And the energy consumption of macro-building system in Shanghai of the year from2000-2010was empirical analyzed with the model. In addition, the energy consumption of two residential buildings with different structure located in Shanghai were calculated too as empirical samples, using the calculated model of micro-building life-cycle energy consumption. Finally, the emission of greenhouse gas during total life cycle stage of building was evaluated according to the calculated results, for the purpose of fixing building energy-saving focus. The results show that the energy consumption of macro-building system in Shanghai increased year by year at the average rate of7.93%, from2585.28ten thousand tce in2000to5123.44ten thousand in2010. The proportion in the energy consumption of the whole city was over46%higher than the average level of the whole country. When micro-buildings concerned the energy consumption of Building-A and Building-B during their total life cycle stages respectively were160259.8GJ and155194.6GJ. The energy consumption of unit area of Building-A is33.13GJ/m, which is1.72GJ/m less than Building-B’s34.85GJ/m. From the perspective of building life cycle, the stage of building material preparation and building usage were the emphasis of building energy saving work. Furthermore, the longer life of building use, the more energy of building consume during life cycle, while the less annual energy of unit building area consume on the contrast with a weaker decrease amplitude. The emission of CO2during the life cycle stage of macro-building system grew year by year at the top of1803.70ton in2010, but the emission of unit building area showed a decrease trend in the past ten years and got lowest point with0.13ton/m2in2010. Building-A’s per unit building area emission of CO2is2990ton/m2, building-B’s is3054.47ton/m2.According to the characteristic of energy consumption during building life cycle’s different stages, it can be inferred that the energy consumption as well as CO2emission of building will still gradually rise in future. Through scenario analysis, the building energy saving will get a considerable potential, with improved technology and controlled building area per person. Based on such problems, a new concept-green building was put forward to correspond with the right situation of building energy work of China in the last part.
