The Research On Building Planting Skin In The Hot Summer And Cold Winter Area

At the era background of increasingly exasperating of the eco-environment, construction industry that has consumed more energy relatively must take the road of eco-design. Building skin as building internal and external communication interface has been the focus of eco-design. A variety of renewable materials, high-tech equipments, and low-power structures and so on for the ecological building skin has emerged.Plants play an important role in improving the ecological environment. From the classical gardens to city parks, plants and architecture always have a close relationship. But in the plight of the shortage of land in the city and shrinking of green, flat green can no longer meet the needs of improving the urban environment. To achieve maximum efficiency of greening, we must make full use of building skin to construct building planting skin.The essence of building planting skin is roof greening and vertical greening. Three-dimensional greening frequently is considered from the perspective of horticulture. But the concept of building planting skin in this paper is aimed at breaking through this idea. Building planting skin is treated as a new ecology designing method that is based on architectural noumenon and compromises architectural design and planting design.Based on object and scope of the study on building planting skin, the research achievements at home and abroad are summarized. By analysis on ecological connotation of building planting skin, we can recognize the ecological idea, characteristics, effects and esthetics of building planting skin and take the initiative to choose the architectural forms which meet ecological view in the course of design, appreciation and decision.As the hot summer and cold winter area is characterized by hot summer and cold winter, eco-design for building skin is particularly important. On the basis of analysis on region climate of the hot summer and cold winter area, the paper differently expounds regional design factors including plants, construction and techniques.After expounding regional factors of the hot summer and cold winter area, the paper summarizes design methods of building planting skin that are worth referring in the hot summer and cold winter area. These methods involve tendencies of exquisiteness, curtain wall, space and high-rise which are elaborated by theory and examples.Finally, the Baosteel Stage of Shanghai World Expo is analyzed as a typical case of building planting skin in the hot summer and cold winter area. According to the design course of the Baosteel Stage, the paper analyzes the different stages of investigation, analysis, decision, construction, inspection and summary.
