Power cables in the city grid has been widely used, the electricity production urgent needto study and master the diagnostic techniques of cable insulation put into the transfer of testand operational phases. Put to find potential cable insulation defects by detecting the Board inrecent years the power industry to focus on technology. Discharge detection has importantpractical value for the research topic of this thesis to the Bureau of the cable insulationdefects.Ocillation wave voltage method draws the attention of domestic and foreign experts forits superiority in partial discharge of XLPE cable. However, the efficiency and safety of themethod in10kVXLPE cable defect detection still need to verify. Firstly, collected a largenumber of operational information, research classified the main types of cable defects and PDdiagnostic methods, the Board put this on the basis of Sasser voltage detection as the mainresearch directions, with a strong operationaland targeted. Argument of the paper insulationslicing and cable defect model simulation on the basis of the research conclusions, and set upthe experimental platform of the artificial simulation of defects, the use of power frequencyvoltage and Sasser voltage generating device to a large number of laboratory tests and dataanalysis, theoretical calculations and laboratory test results demonstrate the power frequencyvoltage and Sasser voltage, the equivalent resistance and Sasser in the production and fieldapplication voltage method feasibility. The papers collected valuable field data462run cableSasser PD test and the disintegration of the defective cable analysis, field test resultseffectively validate the effectiveness of the Sasser voltage detect cable defects PD. Insulationresistance measurement before and after the experiment can be seen that no significant effecton the Sasser voltage for cable insulation state, Sasser voltage method experiment and doesnot constitute damage for cable, so the detection cable of local defects with non-destructivenature.
