With the development of electric power industry, Cross-linkedPolyethylene (XLPE) cable for its excellent electrical properties are widelyused in power grids replacing overhead lines and cone insulated cables.Partial Discharge (PD) measuring system is an effective way to enhance thereliability of the power supply system, and also an important part of thediagnoses to the XLPE cable. Thus the XLPE cable PD detection has verygood research significance and application prospect.This paper argued the research on PD detection in XLPE cable accessoriesbased on multi-sensor fusion technology using high frequency currenttransformer (HFCT) method, Ultra-high frequency (UHF) method andacoustic emission (AE) method. In the dissertation, following research in thePD on-line detection technology was covered.1. Propagation of PD pulse in XLPE cable was discussed;2. Multi-sensor fusion technology in XLPE cable PD detection wasproposed, and through experimental researches its efficiency and positioningaccuracy was shown;3. A XLPE cable PD Diagnostic system which based on high speed dataprocessing platform was developed to accomplish the online-monitoring;4. Related experimental researches on XLPE cable PD detection arecarried out, and typical insulation defects in cable are investigated.5. Field PD test have been done, and4typical onsite PD detection casesare provided.
