Based on our country’s long history of food culture, along with social progress,the development of urban economic level,the need of building urban culture, people’sincreasing demand of eating out, and city’s industrial restructuring demand of tertiatyindustry, urban food and beverage industry develop strongly, lead to numberincreasing, large-scale, type of diversification and many other aspects. From industrialangle, the development of enterprises trend to agglomeration. Large-scale effectsproduced by food and beverage space occupied urban space. It has become one of theimportant place in the city. Except of meeting basic food needs of people, it haveplayed important roles in other aspects.The food beverage street, as is called in the paper, is the most common style inspace layout of food and beverage outlets aggregation, which arrange a certainnumber of restaurants on one or two sides of a street, with succinct layout easy torecognize and remember and also strong plasticity. The food beverage street will formblock as one kind of city’s business blocks with its development and interaction alongof other adjacent streets and urban functions. The food and beverage block contains offunctions of not only obvious repast but also entertainment, show as example, whichdevelop with city’s other areas as business block, scenic Area, historic block and newurban district, some examples are city’s distinctive blocks to researth ex. ShanghaiXintiandi, Beijing Guijie and Wuhan Hubuxiang. Many cities have built or planningto build characteristical food and beverage block to affect the city’s construction, suchas Chengdu Ypintxia block., the research about spatial layout of food and beverageblock has definite significance in urban planning subject.This paper selects typical case about dining districts in some cities. The researchcombines literature review with data query and network resource about utilization andother means of the spatial layout of the dining block. The entire paper can be dividedinto four parts: the first part discussing the background, methods, scope of the study, and the contents of the first chapter. The second part which is including Chapters IIand III, in which a preliminary understanding of the city dining neighborhood isestablished, discusses the urban development and construction of the dining andcatering block related to spatial characteristics. The third part focuses on of the spaceof the city dining neighborhood layout. through the study in fourth chapter, combiningcase analysis with statistical analysis of relevanted data, analysis in the space layoutof the dining block and the features of the spatial layout are summarized. The fourthpart analyses the dining block construction of many actual programmes.
