In the first part of this essay, the serious conditions of leaking issues among thebuildings in our country, problems and situations in water proof engineering, and thebackground, range, content and the aim of study will be presented. Analyzing the leakingreasons of the structure of steal reinforced concrete in terms of theories, and some routinemethods of disposition towards the leaking issues in the concrete will be raised.The study of the essay focuses on the idea that ‘materials is the foundation, design is thepremise, construction is the key point, management controls the quality’; it will be supportedby some case studies, embark on the research on the most vulnerable parts of the buildingwhich are basement, roof, toilets, kitchens, and window frames, and finally the factors whichgive rise to the leaking issues will be found out. There would be some analysis and summarytowards these factors. It also provides analysis and exploration on the current popularmethods of waterproof engineering in terms of materials, design, construction andmanagement; some drawbacks would be pointed out. Some improvement methods would beraised by integration of theory analysis and the working experience of the writer. Thepossibilities of waterproof of dorsal surface in the basement waterproof engineering will bestudied, and some successful cases of this field will be displayed, which provides anothermethod to the basement waterproof engineering. In view of the existing drawbacks of thetraditional roof-construction practices, a practice of anastrophe of waterproof layer andinsulation layer will be pointed out. In the meantime, some suggestions will be raised towardshow to select waterproof materials, and give analysis on the basis of the advantages of themethod of anastrophe. It will sum up the leaking issues happened in the toilets and kitchens,some superior methods towards the parts that constantly suffer from leaking issues will bemade. What is more, the key points of how to control the quality during the constructionprocess will be put forward in regards to the construction situations in toilets and kitchens.The water resistance property of alufer will be explored, some new mould, new type ofmaterials are adopted during the installation of alufer, enlarge the construction area ofwaterproof engineering, reinforce the construction quality of the outsider of the windowframes, and measures of controlling the window frames free from leaking will be found.
