Atrium space is a kind of special complex architectural form and it has differentcharacteristics compared with other buildings. The airflow inside center atrium needed to beconcerned. With the development of the computational fluid dynamics (CFD), research anddesign staffs can calculation simulation method with low cost to predict indoor airflow. Atpresent, the rapid development of computer field is provided for CFD method conditions, andpowerful hardware level makes the large-scale simulation research from theory to reality.A large shopping center of the Hong Kong is taken as the object of study. Firstly,exhaustive tests are carried on the field, and a large number of actual data is get. The airconditioning system of the shopping center is mastered, and the existing problems are found.Secondly, the introduction of the CFD simulation is introduced. The CAD model is returnedby the design drawings, and it is imported into AIRPAK. The model of the objects of researchis established. Based on reasonable simplification for the model, taken the measured data asthe boundary condition of the model, used the standard k-ε two equation model, thesimulation results are get. The simulated results and the measured results are compared, andthe established model is proved to be reliable. Finally, on the basis of this model, with thechange of the supply air temperature, air velocity, air outlet number, position and the blowermeans and so on, the corresponding flow of air distribution is get. Through the analysis andcontrast of each scheme airflow evaluation index, the practical construction measures areobtained.The paper is possessed for the mall large space air conditioning system design.Meanwhile, indoor thermal environment and energy saving improvement are provided for thelarge space air conditioning system.
