At the beginning of1990s, polarization of domestic hotel market is very serious.Four or five stars high level hotels and low level hotels which take small guesthousesand small hotels as representatives almost occupy the whole domestic hotel market. Butmost consumer group in middle-income can’t afford for some high level hotel and at thesame time the conditions of small guesthouse and hotel can’t meet their requirements.Under these situations, the first budget hotel appeared in late1990s in our country’seconomy center, Shanghai. With China’s economy further development, other budgethotels such as "Home Inn","Seven Days","Motel168" has developed gradually inabout ten years between nineteenth to twentyth century. Nowadays, distribution ofbudget hotels in most tier cities of our country has almost finished. And the industrythink consistently that there is a large developing space of budget hotel market in othercities because of people’s income augment and travel demand increase. Second tiercities such as Chengdu, Qindao, Wuhan and even some third tier travel cities are beingturned into the hot market that domestic and overseas budget hotels contend for. Inrecent two years, the national chain budget hotels which have entered and stationed inWuhan includes "Jinjiang Inn"," Home Inn","Hangting","Seven Days" such chainbrand. The chain shops of "Seven Day" are up to40. Budget hotels springing up likemushroom blossom everywhere in biggest city of Central China.However, with the fast and blind expansion of domestic budget hotels, thesedomestic budget hotels have spent about ten years finishing the dozens or evenhundreds of years’s development of Euramerican developed countries. Therefore, a lotof problems has been raised such as the service and informationization degree problemsin software aspect and serious sameness problems in hardware capacities andequipments.This paper mainly researches the hardware designs problems exist in domesticbudget hotels. Through studing the development histories, design principles and designprocedures of domestic and overseas budget hotels and particular market research whichtakes the budget hotels in Wuhan areas as basic, this paper chooses the starting pointrightly, divide the target market reasonably for the anew hardware design of specifictarget population by using method that linking theory with practice. The paper whichwill make the designs of domestic budget hotels more reasonable will involve manyaspects such as science and technology, fashion, art, architecture and space.In a word, with the upturn living standards, people’s thoughts and consumptionconcepts have changed. Budget hotels must be an important constituent part of people’stravels and life, meanwhile they have positive significances for the developments ofmodern cities, modern business and modern travel business. Therefore, I hope topropose my own suggests and methods reasonably and to make my own smallcontributions about the designs of domestic budget hotels through the deep researchesand exploration of them.
