The Research On Yacht Modeling Style And Function Classification

After World War II, the yacht began to spread fast, supply and demand of the international yacht market is maintaining stable growth as the global economic development, the Chinese yacht manufacturing industry began to develop from the20th century70years, with the State encouraging the development of yacht industry in recent years, yacht industry is confronted with a critical moment. Yacht design is a very important part of industrial chain link, is also a weak part of the yacht industrial link. Therefore, this research focuses on classification for modeling shape and function of yachts, which contributes designing and constructing database of yachts and helps to design our characteristic Chinese yachts.This paper starts with the definition and concept of yacht, and then analyzes the structures, modeling shapes and sizes. The article focus on the study of relationship between style and modeling shapes which based on the research from the whole characteristics to parts features, and abstract the most notable features. And the second part is to analyze the relationship between modeling shapes and functions from the functional aspect. During the research through questionnaire surveys and SPSS statistical software, some representative adjectives for the yacht are gained just for classified the yacht styles. It’s clear to compare different yachts from features previously discussed with yacht style, and then finds the linkage with questionnaires and multiple linear regression methods. By analyzing yacht functions and classification of the current yachts, the paper summarizes the classifications of function of yachts, and then compares the advantages and disadvantages of the two classification methods.Finally the style classification of "dynamic yacht" and the functional classification of "sports boat" have become the starting point for yacht design stage, yacht design refers to functional position and shape characteristics of these two classifications, for applying research findings to design.
