Research On Relationship Between Yacht Style Design And Material Technology

Product manufacturing materials and technology characteristics have great impact on product design, especially in product style design. It is of great significance to make research on the corresponding material technology. In yacht design, designers can design with a variety of different materials which are applicable to different technology, generating different design effect. Research on relationship between yacht style design and material technology has great referential value to yacht design. Through the research on relationship between design and materials we can see:the research on relationship between design and materials focuses on the matching of product features with the inherent characteristics of material and the constraints that material technology characteristics limit yacht style design. For the former,The paper selects the current two major yacht materials - metal materials and composite materials, comparing features of metal materials with functional requirements of yacht to take advantages and disadvantages of each materials , analyzing the reason why they can be used to manufacture yacht and what kind of yacht they are suitable to manufacture. In terms of research on relationship between technology and design, the research focus is hand lay-up process of composite materials .Firstly, the paper analyzes and characterizes the yacht style from the perspective of feature recognition and style characteristic line and then elaborates from styling and parting, styling and stripping, styling and technology. For these aspects, the paper have been implemented to the feature line level,analysising how to deal with feature line can achieve better process results, involving in many functions factors.The paper also provides guidance for yacht design and applies to the corresponding project combining the conclusion with yacht design process.Many materials can be used to manufacture yachts, primarily metal materials and composite materials which have different advantages in different ship with the appropriate use to achieve good design results. It can provide help to designers to learn design constraints and guidance to evaluation design with the engineering staff at the appropriate time that research on the characteristic of material technology which can help to design more excellent products.
