Study On Outdoor Environment Of Polyclinics In Nanjing

Changing of medical model and hospital renovation and expansion wave bring new development opportunities to outdoor environment of polyclinic. Modern hospitals which are modeling by "family","garden","art" and "human touch" ready to come out. Hospital users want comfortable and beautiful environment with close contact to feel relaxed and face life positively. Therefore, it is necessary to study outdoor environment of polyclinic detailed and systematically.This paper build the main research framework of polyclinic outdoor environment based on the summary of it’s features, user needs, layout, functional division, the composition of the environment and related specification.Based on the above research, the article investigates number of polyclinic outdoor environments, especially to five Class Ⅲ-A polyclinics in Nanjing. And using an unified framework to investigate and analysis the background, location, environment layout, functional division and the composition of outside environment of every case.And then, the paper conducts a horizontal comparison to the traffic, functional division, spatial composition, green plants and environment facilities of the investigative objects, to summary common problems and merits of each case by reference existing specification of polyclinic outdoor environment and on-site investigation, observation and statistics.Next, proceeding a comprehensive assessment to inpatient outside venues of polyclinics in Nanjing. And separating it’s main evaluation factors as function, suitability and appreciation based on the information induction, integration and analysis earlier, setting out main factors in every part and using AHP to analysis their importance related to the assessment by the next step. And then rating to the spots through questionnaire, statistic and analysis the results to validate and complement the conclusion of the field survey and to clear the status of the environment especially outside the polyclinic inpatient in Nanjing.Finally, summarizing the issues of current polyclinic outdoor environment in Nanjing on the basis of the above analysis and research, and prying the lack of widespread of national polyclinic outside venues accordingly which the prominent elements are uneasiness of hospital outside space caused by the shortage of downtown land, traffic chaos of polyclinic main entrance and ignorance of the needs of outside users. And discussing the strategies and feasible suggestions of polyclinic outdoor environment based on these problems, summarizing the role of environment in the new century and some ideas and methods in the area of environmental therapy as well.
