Marine simulator provides the immersive feel to the manipulation staff, and can contributeto the training of the crew driving ability, as well as scientific research. The visual system ofmarine simulator is an integral part of the marine simulator, the real-time sea state and coastalscenes are shown by the visual system, so that the pilots can feel a realistic boatmanshipenvironment effect, thereby enhancing the efficiency of training and research. This article usesthe open-source simulation graphics library OSG (the OpenSceneGraph) as the graphics engine,based on the A-level indicators in the marine simulator certification standards of Det NorskeVeritas (DNV), to structure the visual system of marine simulator and local optimization. Thepaper is mainly the following aspects:(1)Using the OSG3D driving engine to drive the scene model of the port of Xiamen, Sanyaand Dalian and surrounding buildings that are built by the modeling tool Multigen Creator,which achieves the basic functionality of the navigation simulator visual system.(2)By observing actual fog on the sea, and analyzing this fog combined with theatmospheric science, the situation of the sea fog is reached. From this phenomenon,using theadvection fog algorithm to simulate the fog on the sea, and finally it is colored for shader by theGPU technology.(3)Using the improved Kelvin waves to model the ship wave algorithm, and combining theFFT model for waveform integration. At last, it is colored for shader by the GPU technology.(4)Combined with the key technologies of the navigation simulator visual system,integrating and optimizating the visual system.
