A Study On The Art Of Taihu Stone And Rockery In Jiangnan Litereti Garden

Taihu stone has its own unique aesthetic properties, which is co-operating with the spiritual connotation of literati garden. The art of Taihu stone and rockery in Jiangnan literati garden is highly developed and has huge influence on the later stone aesthetics. This study tries to explore the visual uses, design guidelines and compositional uses of Ttaihu stone and rockery under the local and cultural context. First, figure out the history of Taihu stone and rockery in Chinese garden, under the whole Chinese traditional history and culture not by the details. Analyze and discuss the typical sect of Taihu stone art in Jiangnan, and find the main impact factors. Then, point out that Taihu stone is the medium connecting nature and manpower. Key parts of the study are spatial layout and compositional ways of Taihu stone and rockery.The layout concept of Taihu stone and rockery in Jiangnan literati garden is summarized, including site Taihu rockery properly, settle them in order and project spatial definition. First, relate Taihu rockery to the outside environment internally or expertly. Then, analyze the layout of Taihu rockery in the garden, including four forms:dispersion, deviation, centrality and combined action by water, which is very significant.
