Sluice is a low-head hydraulic structure, which plays a very important role inhydropower, navigation, irrigation, drainage, flood and other water conservancy projects.The chamber often use the reinforced concrete structure, and the structure of thechamber is relative complex. In the traditional design, the people always use the repeatdesign method, but it is a inefficient method. Meanwhile, the success of design using thismethod depends on the designer’s experience to a large extent. So the final project usually isnot the optimal scheme. Nowadays, in the great development in water conservancyundertakings, a lot of waste will be produced with the increasing of the number of sluiceconstruction.The purpose of the present study is to enrich and improve the system of sluice design,and to reduce the repeated sluice design. Finally, we will realize the computer intelligentand automation, and achieve significant economic benefit and social benefit through applyingcomputer program.At the same time, because the ANSYS software can not output the internal force ofsolid element, I exploit a program to solve the problem. Then,I can calculate internalforces and reinforcement with APDL language program.This paper is concentrated on optimize the parameter of the structural of the open-typesluice chamber using ANSYS software of finite element analysis to look for the mosteconomical and practical structure which is base on meeting the requirements ofstability against sliding, base pressure and strength of structure.We can take the pierthickness, length and thickness of baseboard as design variables. Meanwhile, we take theconditions of stability against sliding, bearing capacity of foundation soil and stress underthe main load (chamber weight, uplift pressure, hydrostatic pressure and soilpressure) as theconstraint conditions. We take the goal of total investment function as the objective function,and establish an optimization design of the structural of the open-type sluice chambermodel.In the calculation process, because of using parametric modeling, a series of work can be done automatically, without manual intervention, the higher intelligence degree. Such as,meshing the chamber and the foundation with finite element, loading boundary conditionsand water pressure, solving finite element, educing the result of the finite element(including various optimization variable values, the objective function, constraint conditions,etc),the judgment of optimal conditions for the convergence and optimization calculation.In addition, I choose a specific engineering to optimize the design, and hit the target ofsaving investment. Meanwhile, I get a good effect, and the result meet the requirements ofthe conditions of stability against sliding, bearing capacity of foundation soil and stress ofthe structure. What’s more, the results show that the method is reliable and effective forengineering design. At the same time, the reliability of this procedure is better, and theefficiency of the finite element solver is high.At the last, I do the optimization design of the sluice of different foundations, and I gotsome beneficial conclusions.
