Since automobile was invented, engineers have began to research thesuspension system to make it more in line with the overall vehicle performancerequirements, from the initial elastic steel plate suspension to springsuspension, and then air suspension, hydraulic suspension, from passivesuspension to active suspension. With the rising of suspension systemperformance, the consumed power is also rising. But it is contradiction tosoaring oil prices and depleting oil resources. This has to be solved. Energyregenerative active suspension can recover damper vibration energydissipated as heat and storage to battery at the same time of achieve to activecontrol. This may solve the contradiction between the economy and the overallperformance of the suspension system to a certain extent, and make itpossible to be widely used in the future.As a new type of energy regenerative suspension, ball screw combinationmotor energy regenerative suspension has some advantage as goodsuitability、simple structure、low cost、high energy-regenerative efficiency. Andwith some features as good overload capability、high power density、small sizemake permanent magnet synchronous motor to be the preferred energy-feedmotor. Therefore, study and design control system of permanent magnetsynchronous motor used to feed energy is meaningful for energy-saving onautomobile.First, the paper describe the problems traditional suspension encounteredas well as the development process of energy-regenerative suspension andseveral designs of energy-regenerative suspension. And then the summary ofthe principle of ball screw combination motor energy-regenerative suspensionto achieve feed energy and the advantages of using permanent magnetsynchronous motor as energy-feed motor. Secondly, electromagnetic relationship of permanent magnet synchronous motor in three differentcoordinate system are derived, and the principle of voltage space vectorcontrol is also explained in detail. So the permanent magnet synchronousmotor control algorithm in the use of energy regenerative suspension has atheoretical basis. And then design the hardware and software platforms formotor control system according to the way of energy regenerative suspensionworks and the permanent magnet synchronous motor vector control algorithm.Finally, test and verify the hardware and software systems in a motorenergy-feed experiment under certain conditions, and the platform can runcoordinately and stably.The paper accomplish the initial development for the motor control systemused in energy regenerative suspension and lay the foundation for the nextstep in the research and development.
