It has vital significance for the locomotive cab of high-speed train to design for the lighting environment. A good lighting environment in locomotive cab helps improve visual effect comfort, preserve eyesight to guarantee the high-speed train operating safely and efficiently. This thesis aimed at exploring the relation between the lighting environment of locomotive cab and drivers’visual effect and adopted the theory, experiment and computer simulation combination method; it studied the lighting environment of locomotive cab for the high-speed train systemically. Some evaluation and design method to the lighting environment of locomotive cab would be given in this thesis which could provide a basis for design of lighting environment of locomotive cab in future. The main topics in this thesis are as follows:Firstly, this thesis made a detailed introduction to the property of drivers’vision and comprehensively analyzed the state of design for lighting environment, overviewed the development course and evaluation method of glare, then described the effect of lighting environment to drivers’vision.Secondly, this thesis introduced the evaluation method of glare in architecture to evaluate the daylight glare in locomotive cab and modified the parameters in the evaluation method by considering characteristic of high-speed train’s locomotive cab. A new evaluation method of shading was also proposed from the view of light energy. According the CIE model of sky luminance distribution, computer simulation method was also adopted to simulate the daylight environment.the simulation result was compared with actual investigations to be verified.Thirdly, for lighting environment of locomotive cab at night, this thesis designed the experiment of drivers’effect vision in high-speed train at night and founded the mathematical model of the relationship between the level of lighting in locomotive cab and drivers’effect of vision. Taking the discomfort glare of instrument illumination into consideration, the model of best level of interior lighting of locomotive cab was proposed. Computer simulation technique was adopted to establish the relationship between lighting level and lighting distance of headlamp, combining the study result of the drivers’visual effect, thesis made a research into the distance of drivers’observation at night. A design method was also proposed for headlamp of high-speed train.At last, taking CRH3model of high-speed train as example, this thesis completed the analysis of lighting environment for high-speed train. The results showed that: the result of simulation for the daylight environment were identical with the actual investigation’s; the evaluation results of daylight glare in locomotive cab matched with objective law; the optimum interior lighting level based on the model proposed in thesis was in agreement with drivers’subjective attitudes. Those testified validity of the model in this thesis.
