EMU driver’s cab lighting plays a significant role in guaranteeing driver’s visual task. There are many factors affecting the quality of lighting in cab, among which reflected glare is one of the most important factors. The inappropriate relative position of lights and display devices can lead to the generation of reflected glare. The thesis starts from the cab lighting layout design, focuses on the impact of the relationship of reflected glare and the number of lamps, lamps position as well as beam angle. Advice on lighting optimization arrangement is proposed on the basis of the above. The following works in this thesis are completed:Firstly, an investigation on the current common EMU cab lighting of CRH1、 CRH2、CRH380、CRH3G、CIT400,etc is carried out. The thesis mainly summarizes from three aspects:types of lamps, number of lamps arranged and light layout forms, which provides basic support on confirming the influential factors of reflected glare.Secondly, quantitative assessment of cab reflected glare based on visual simulation is utilized, and subjective assessment experiment of reflected glare is carried out using the simulation platform of CRH3cab. The results calculated by simulation are compared with those from subjective assessment, which indicates a significant linear relationship between them. Thus confirming it is feasible to assess cab reflected glare using visual simulation.Thirdly, selecting the number of lamps, layout position and beam angle as the factors of reflected glare, UGR value calculated by simulation as the index, designing orthogonal experiment to research how all the factors affecting the reflected glare. On the basis of the above, significant factors are linearly fitted. Finally, an optimal light layout solution of EMU driver’s cab is provided, which belongs to nonlinear programming problem with constraints because most object functions and constraints conditions are nonlinear function. Then optimum layout can be achieved by control function after the model is translated into linear problem using multiple linear regression method. The study shows that the lamps quantities, layout position and beam angle have significant effect on reflected glare in the cab, and the beam angle affects the most.3lamps with36°beam angle, installed in the middle of the roof can not only has a adequate illuminance on the floor but also make the reflected glare minimum, therefore the above lighting plan is the optimal solution. The conclusion of this thesis can provide reference and advice on the lighting layout in EMU driver’s cab.
