These old industry residential areas set a solid foundation for the development of our economy, however, the development in these areas is far behind the trace in urban development with the time passed by, the environment of residential areas is destroyed and it is unreasonable for construction aging, the choice they are confronted with is-dismantled for reconstruction or remained as is, or provided with new life by technical reconstruction to extend the construction life.The article is prepared from the aforementioned standpoint and the detailed information is derived from deep research by incorporating the climate features, residential culture, existing inhabitation condition with effective energy-saving reconstruction measures through the reading for references and detailed analysis, actual investigation for existing old residential areas in Shanxi province, in combination with the situation in Shanxi province and related technique, based on associated stipulation of residential areas and reconstruction. And get the reconstruction method for old industry residential areas in Shanxi province by analysis, sorting, refining and incorporation, and try to be healthy&comfortable, energy-saving&high-effective, economical&reasonable, harmonious&elegant, to set a foundation for achieving the development tragedy of "build economical society and establish harmonious new Shanxi".This project is the branch of residential area reconstruction research system, it has significant meaning no matter from theoretical or practical side.
