With the increasingly serious energy and environmental issues, electric vehiclesbegan to re-enter the field of vision of the researchers, the development of electricvehicles has also become the mainstream of the automotive industry. The electric caris the emerging field of the IGBT, the promotion of electric vehicles has opened up anew market for power electronic devices. IGBT modules play a crucial role in theelectric vehicle motor control and energy conversion, which between the batterysystem and motor system bridges. Throughout the world a global automotivepowerhouse are bound to hold the core and key technologies in the powersemiconductor, the IGBT structure optimization, performance improvement, thepower to extend the unremitting efforts in the direction of the device the researchers.Because of its important position in the electric car, how the appropriate choice ofIGBT products become even more important if the device parameter set aside morethan excessive, it will cause the waste of resources, or margin due to insufficientreliability of the system can not guarantee in the selection of the reference of IGBTelectrical performance and cost at the same time, must ensure that the choice of thepower modules to meet the typical application requirements.Power electronic devices are the core of the PN junction, while the performanceof the PN junction temperature sensitivity. Within the thermal losses, overload andother factors may cause the device temperature rise caused by local thermalbreakdown. To ensure proper operating temperature of the device must be less thanthe maximum allowable thermostat. As a result, the study of power electronicdevices thermal loss and the thermostat for power devices to the stability, whether itis reasonable scientific selection of power devices has great significance. This articlewill give a fast method of calculating the temperature of the IGBT section.The drive circuit of the power electronic devices is the interface between powerelectronics and control circuits, power electronic inverter is an important part of thegood performance of the drive circuit to shorten the switching time and reduce theswitching losses in the ideal state, operating efficiency of IGBT, reliability and security are of great significance, and some protective measures are usually also thenearest located in the driver circuit, or through the drive circuit to achieve thesefactors make the drive circuit design is particularly important. In this paper a detailedstudy of error protection for the IGBT drive circuit, and the Cadence circuitsimulation, to verify the rationality of the circuit design.
