Research On The Quality Of Shaping Residential District’s Public Space

With the rising living standards of urban residents, leisure time is more and more, the requirements of public space is increasingly high not only in quantitative terms, but also in the quality of public space. The quality of urban residential district’s public space is not only directly related to the quality of life for every resident, but also has a larger impact on the city’s social environment, it determines the overall layout of the city’s form and quality of the environment. Good spatial quality is the main development objectives of the residential district construction.However, for today’s rapid development of city in China, especially in large and medium-sized cities, faced with such a large number of housing demand, the shortage of residential land resources, the rapid development of the car, the environment of residential districts, and so a series of questions, which make the construction of the residential districts also facing a huge challenge.The problems encountered by face today in China is very similar to Singapore, which in the housing development for the period 1970-1980.Singapore settlements focus on overall planning, by optimize using of limited land resources to create a better living environment for residents. Based on Singapore’s experience in housing development, this paper brings up the methods that through the elements design and overall construction to improve the quality of settlements public space.This paper analysis the common problems in the construction of the residential district of public space, starts from the concept of the quality of residential public space, as defined on the basis of summing up the relevant theoretical and practical experience of public space at home and abroad, through analyzing the living cell-related indicators of Jinan residential district in recent years and researching the 1980s,1990s and 2000 representative residential district, sums up the factors that affect the quality of the residential area of public space, including the planning and design factors, socio-economic factors as well as planning and management factors, and finally on this basis, brings up the methods of the elements design and overall construction and proposes specific recommendations for improving the quality of public space.
