Research On Functional Organization And Distribution Patterns Of Urban Complex

Recently, urban complexes have emerged in Chinese metropolises with the rapid economic developing, which has a lot of benefits in mixed-use of city space, promotion of cities’intensity and investment efficiency, and also is an important approach to cites’ sustainable development. In the design of the urban complex, it is a key issue to be studied that how to associate different functions together to take advantage of the combined effect and to promote the comprehensive utilization of resources.The research is established on the investigation of the urban complex samples, divided into nine chapters. Chapterl and2introduce the concept and history of urban complex, the research background and methods. Chapter3induced the various functions of urban complex as the basis for the further research, and studied the functions’ proportional relationship. Chapter4studied the main factors which effect distribution of functions in urban complex. Chapter5examined the distribution features of different functions in urban complex, as well as their particular combination patterns with other functions. Chapter6induced the modes of the functional organization and distribution, on the basis of the two chapters before. Chapter7tried to propose evaluation parameters and methods of the functional organization of the urban complex. Chapter8examined the conclusions before in practice. Chapter9concluded the paper, pointed out the limitations and further research needed in the future.
