With the expansion of China’s urbanization process, urban high-rise residentialbuildings also will be achieved important development.With the urban construction landis declining and the sharp is increasing in the urban residents，This have shown theimportance of the development of urban high-rise residential. Especially in the last20years, China’s residential building has made rapid development, but the process ofdevelopment has also brought a lot of questions: neglects of local residents and climatedifferences, the architectural forms of imitation and plagiarism, eventually leading tolack of construction of regional culture. In recent years, architects and developersrecognize the importance of the development of local architectural features, and made anumber of successful exploration, but these explorations are mostly concentrated in asmall villa, the underlying residential high-end projects, it lacks of certain socialpopularity.The high-rise residential is the object of the article, high-rise residential areaproject in Xi’an as the research object, the application of inductive and statisticalmethods to analyze and summarize the geographical expression. First of all, I havestudied the high-rise residential development at domestic and abroad, as well asgeographical theory, and pointed out that high-rise residential facade geographicalexpression.Secondly, I research and analysis of a large number of high-rise residential in theXi’an area, classification of the geographical expression of the high-rise residential. Onthe one hand, starting from the building functional requirements and the needs of thenatural environment, to explore the high-level facade geographical expression; the otherhand, the symbolic application of the architectural form, color application, materialapplication, to explore the high-rise residential facade geographical expression.At last, I summed up some of the principles and methods of high-rise residential facade Localization of expression, and proposed regional expression in the commodityeconomy era high-rise residential design recommendations.Thesis study aims to research and summarize high-rise residential geographicalexpression in the Xi’an area, to explore the problems and their causes, in-depth analysisof the building region expression, and provide inspiration for future high-rise residentialfacade geographical expression.
