Constitution Patterns Of The Vieux Yutian In Xinjiang From The Perspective Of Local Resources Constraints

Xinjiang is the typical arid region in China,most of which has annualprecipitation less than200mm. With the deterioration of global environment,theresidential environment in Xinjiang face great challenge. The existence of settlementsconstruction based on oasis are constrainted by local resources. Conflicts erupt easilybecause of various problems such as backward economy, different religious belief,deterioration of ecological environment etc.In recent years, science and technologydevelop fast, new materials and new technology change almost everyday. Theconstruction experience of traditional settlements which is inherited from the past tensof thousands of years will bring new revelation to the development of oasis livingenvironment.The research selecte vieux Yutian of HeTian area in XinJiang which has typicalcharacteristics of oasis settlement as the main research object. Taking the perspectiveof resources science and combining the knowledge of city planning with architecture,this paper combines field research method with analysis of literature method, oasissettlement is studied.The research selecte four kinds of local resources which has themost direct impact on constitution of oasis settlement as the main aspects of discussion,that is land resources, water resources, climate resources, and building materialresources. From3spatial scales which are the macro (South Xinjiang oasis), the meso(vieux Yutian), micro (folk house in Yutian), the research analyses the relationshipbetween local resources and local settlement and representation of adaptability.Thepurpose of this paper is to reveal the adapbility of local settlement to local resources, summarize construction experience and refine pattern language, providing theoryreference for local settlement in arid region.There are5chapters in this article. The1st chapter is the introduction part, The2nd chapter discusses the relationship between local resources and settlementsconstruction from the macro scale. Introducing the characteristics of oasis in southXinjiang and the town system. Analysing the conjugate distribution of water and soilresources, land resources and urban system. The main influence to settlement siteselection are land resources and water resources. The3rd chapter discusses therelationship between local resources and local settlement from the middle scale.First ofall,this chapter introduces the general situation of vieux Yutian, and than describes thevieux Yutian from the aspects of general form and elements form.Further more,analyse the appearance of all kinds of elements and the relationship with localresources. The main influence to settlement form are land resources and climateresources.The4th chapter discusses the relationship between local resources and localsettlement from the micro scale. This chapter focuses on the following four aspects:Space composition elements and sequence, construction component, the application oflocal building materials and construction technology,and field surveying and mappingof local buildings, analyzing the countermeasures of adapbility and construction onlocal resources for single buildings and yards. The main influence to local buildingsare climate resources and building material resources.The5th chapter summariz theconstitution patterns: Total26language terms of oasis-settlements constitution patternsare summarized under local resources restraint of Xinjiang oasis from the macro,themeso,the micro scales and list and diagram are used to make it clear.Innovation points of this research: studying the ralationship between localresource and settlement construction from the perspective of resources subject andsummarise26points constitution patterns,including conjugate distribution; lowdensity,high disperse; bead like distribution; low comprehensive carrying capacity ofthe land;growth competition along the water; branch like hydrosphere lithosphereform;totality abreast, parts strewn at random; network radiation growth, roadway isnarrow and circuitous; back type intersection; pointlike in centre, blocklike insurrounding, threadiness along the river; threadiness surrounding water system; envelops type expansion; the natural landscape missing and humanistic landscapedominant; large distribution but small concentration; transfer type living; colorful andpay attention to decoration；small,few,tall; abundant space; one ondol for various use；born wall,has made wal；flat roof;A Yiwang; use of bedrooms are clear, in winter andsummer people live separately; courtyard position is flexible; series and centripetalsequence space layout.
