XinJiang YuTian, is located in YuMi country of the Western Han Dynasty which was intersection of east-west economic and cultures. It is a strongpoint of the Silk Road's south path. With its unique natural geographical and cultural environments, Yutian's culture has Characteristic complexity. Different religions and cultures mingle with each other and penetrate into the local national culture, making it reflects special attractions.Local ecological environment, mode of production, national psychological, religious faith and custom are affected by its desert endemic environment which conditioned local construction forms and materials. So that local people uphold practicability and functionality, which would be a part of the local folk-custom environment.The traditional vernacular dwelling expresses strong geographic characteristics,at the same time this embodied a specific national's peculiar life style that originated from local individual territorial environment. It's mixed with nature spontaneously, with local custom cultural, upholding practicability and functionality, reflected the relationship of climatope with living spaces and life style.This paper will begin with the geographical environments, history, national religion faith, custom of YuTian.First, we analysis the relationship of natural environment and construction material deeply. To find out far-reaching meaning of bying rational use of geography,climate,environment and choose of construction material on protecting the eco-environment,saving energy,inheriting tradition and creating healthy living condition.Secondly,we can summary the influence elements of the architecture structure and room's form of the Yutian's vernacular dwelling through investigating local vernacular dwellings.Thirdly, from colorful decorating, we can find that local culture and religion made the local decoration present diversify, and this created the local individual architectural ornaments.Lastly, reforming local people's living condition is imminent. Not only inheriting and protecting the traditional vernacular dwellings of Yutian , but also looking for innovation and development by openly, creative thoughts can create more comfortable living condition for people.
