Stirling engine is an external heating (or combustion) piston engine, it has superiorenvironmental characteristics, such as energy widely adapted, low operating noise, lowpollution. With the increasing of the energy crisis and people’s constantly focus onenvironmental issues, Stirling engine research has being paid more attention becauseof its fuel unrestricting. It has been considered of great significance either from thetechnical reserves or from the economic prospects. The main content of this article is Stirling engine fuel electric control systemdesign and simulation. The fuel supply control system is major components of Stirlingengine’s combustion system, by which the fuel could to be able to stable, accurate andreliable supplied according to requirements. Different with the traditional fuel supplycontrol system which used the rack-lever type, totally mechanical control, this articlebased on the speed control type. The article described the structure, principles anddriving circuit of the system, then after discussed the development of real timeembedded system, introduced uCOS_II as the kernel of control system andprogrammed some applications according to priority which could ensure both achievethe control objectives and had the capacity of online fault diagnosis and failure safety.A virtual instruments development environment LabVIEW was chose as a host systemwhich realized remote display, control and record. The communication protocolbetween the upper and lower system was PPP protocol. The control effect of thesystem based on real time embedded operating system was verified through anexperiment. The results showed that the fuel pressure could be controlled steady onstability state and responded fast on dynamic state, which could meet the requirements.Based on bond graph theory, a preliminary modeling of the fuel system was built andsimulated by the software Simulink. The simulation and experimental results verify thevalidity of the model.
