Stirling engine is a closed cycle reciprocating external combustion engine. Thecontrol of the fuel flow is one of the key technologies of Stirling engine combustioncontrol system, its stability and transient response speed decided the operatingperformance of the machine, including the fuel economy and emission quality. The main content of this article is Stirling engine fuel management system basedon Ethernet. Because of the specificity of the Stirling engine’s practical application, the field bus technology is needed to solve the problem of remote monitor and controlin the distributed engine system. On the basis of analysis and comparison of thenetworked measurement and control system both in the domestic and overseas, embedded Ethernet technology is introduced into the development of the Stirlingengine fuel electronic control system. According to the constitution and operationalrequirements of the fuel supply system, different Ethernet access schemes along withthe control unit which used the Freescale MCF52235EVB as the networked controlcore have been designed. After study and analysis of the TCP/IP protocol, multipleapplication tasks including a simplified TCP/IP protocol stack have been compiledbased on an embedded real time operating system μC/OS-Ⅱ, and the virtualinstrument development software LabVIEW is used to design the remote uppercomputer management system at the same time. The test results show that the Stirlingengine fuel electronic control system is stable under steady state and has a quicklydynamic-response and a good network communication efficiency, all indicators reachthe original design requirements.
