With the development of smart grid and advanced metering technology, smart metersas one of the core equipment of data acquisition in smart grid are drawing more and moreattention. They not only bear the raw date acquisition of power, measurement andtransmission tasks, but also is the base of information integration, analysis andoptimization as well as information display. In order to adapt to the development of smartgrid, smart meters need to have the functionality of wireless communication and harmonicanalysis.Through a comparison research of several kinds of wireless communicationscommonly used in the electric power industry, GPRS is selected in our smart meter systembased on ARM. After a thorough study of the principle of GPRS networks, network mode,and serial communication theory, I designed the GPRS wireless communication networkand the serial communication mode of smart meter system, then completed thecorresponding hardware connection circuit, which could transmit the data in the smartmeter system to the data center via GPRS network, and realize remote wirelesscommunication of smart meter.I have researched effect on harmonic analysis algorithm that spectrum leakage,barrier effect and related theories have, and analysis the harmonic analysis algorithm,which use FFT-based windowed interpolation and all kinds of window functions. The twinpeaks interpolation algorithm based on FFT transform was applied to harmonic analysis ofsmart meter system. Then the functions of acquisition and processing, harmonic analysis,and electricity measurement are demenstrated.I design the signal conditioning circuitry, the opto-isolation circuit, the protectioncircuitry and serial interface circuit of the smart meter system; write some related softwareprogram, including data collection procedures, harmonic analysis algorithm procedures,and wireless communication procedures; choose the corresponding components to buildthe test platform.
