Material testing machine control system is an important part of the material testing machine. With the development of experimental science, technology advances and the application of increased demand, the old control system cannot meet the needs of users. The deepening of Embedded Technology, especially the ARM-Linux technology matures and the cost of its development platform, function, integration, security and other areas,make ARM-Linux the most popular embedded system solutions.ARM-Linux has successful used in electronic products, medical equipment, industrial control areas and has a broad space for development and application. Using embedded technology research and development of intelligent materials with a higher degree of automation, equipment control system testing machine has become an inevitable trend of development.The project——Small and medium-sized material testing machine equipment controller which is based on embedded system——belongs to one of important plan of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. The task of the project is to design and realize the hardware device and software system that base on the embedded system impact test enginery equipment controller. It will change the insufficient and lack of the traditional framework based on PLC framework or microcontroller architecture, shorten product development cycle, lower the cost, and then improve the performance.For project requirements, after a testing about machine technology and its development trend analysis, this article designs and realizes an impact testing machine embedded control system , which is based on AT91RM9200 microprocessor, embedded core platform Linux2.6, Qt/E4 for the graphical interface, SQLite as a database system. It achieves automatic control of machines on impact testing of materials, and has test data storage backup and recovery, records check and report printing, Chinese and English input, Ethernet communication capabilities. The system uses a touch-operation, and has advantages as follow, friendly interface, small size, easy operation and low cost and so on. The control system has been successfully applied to field test environment, and has achieved good operating results.Finally, this article analyzes the embedded control system and point out suggestions for improvement about the problems and deficiencies. The next step is to do something about further optimization and design of the system. Meanwhile, hoping this embedded control system can eerily put into application market.
