Recently, along with the development of the technology of computer, network, databaseand other professional management system, the process of the oil industry has been speededup. A lot of oil enterprises have to invest in the construction of the exploration database,development database and a variety of professional management information system, all ofthese have improved ability of the assistant decision-making to every department of oilindustry. However, the management of oil field tube network has a big quantity data, it hasnot only special data, but also attribute data, so oil fields commonly used by traditional CADdrawings plus property database management model. Along with the development of thetechnology of geographic information system, the traditional model has been increasinglyunable to meet the needs of the modern oilfield pipeline management work, using GIStechnology to realize the unified management of spatial data and attribute data of the oil fieldpipe network has been an inevitable technology trends.This article discusses the construction of ideas and methods of geographic informationsystem in pipeline inspection, thought the basis of ArcGIS for Android, using the Javaprogram language, developed a convenient and practical oil field pipeline network geographicinformation system, the system has realized the function such as data collection, protract oftube map, scan information, query and statistic, special analyses, general management and soon, in order to achieve the oilfield pipeline leak detection analysis and pipeline integritymanagement analysis functions. The design of the pipeline inspection system which offers theremarkable advantages over the conventional management mode in assistant leading decisionand improvement of management efficiency, it also settles base for digital oil field.
