| Unique traditional Tibetan dress, gem of Chinese national costumes art, is like exotic flowers in full bloom in the snowy plateau. The dress patterns, as the visual symbols and carrier of Tibetan folk culture, owning a unique form and profound cultural implication, is a direct manifestation of the Tibetan people’s aesthetic ideas, aesthetic ideals and national temperament. Due to its unique decoration, culture and nationality, the traditional Tibetan dress patterns have become a great favorite for many people and continue to be used in modern artistic designing and gradually be put into use. However, we can hardly find the success cases of application of the Tibetan dress patterns in men’s casual clothing design in domestic market, which is a major shortcoming. Tibetan traditional dress pattern owns a gorgeous color, full composition and mysterious ethnic culture, coupled with the ancient Tibetan superb weaving, dyeing, embroidery, sewing and craft techniques. Modern leisure menswear designers should inherit its inner spirit and carry it forward, making it fused with the modern aesthetic mood and spirit of the times, injecting more times, culture and nationality to our casual menswear design, introducing new elements to men’s casual clothing design and bringing more broad prospects for its development.This paper is divided into three chapters. The first chapter deals with the classification of the Tibetan traditional dress pattern to understand and master it systematically. The second chapter points out the great potential for the development of casual menswear market as well as the advantages and disadvantages of design via the domestic casual menswear market research. And then based on a large number of cases of application of the Tibetan dress patterns in men’s casual clothing design collected in domestic market, we respectively study, from the pictorial composition and pattern of colors, fabrics, craft techniques and other aspects of traditional Tibetan dress patterns, how traditional Tibetan dress patterns can be applied in men’s casual clothing design.In the third chapter, combined with cases, we firstly find some problems that exist in the application and then combined with modern casual menswear design theory, creativity and modern aesthetic concept, we utilize a new design concept to explore the new methods of application of the traditional Tibetan dress patterns in men’s fashion casual clothing design. |
