This paper discusses the fashion brand T-shirt design which originated from the Europe and America Street Culture, including hippie, masquerade, punk and so on. The development of T-shirt is always affected by the time spirit, and it always gives an index to the mentality of the people. With the development of the economy and culture, the pursuit of material has been constantly met. And people start to pursue the spiritual personality, independent and free. With the change in mentality and the continuous development of the Internet, the consumption culture has been different than before. The avant-garde, fashion and individuality fashion brand clothing is in hot pursuit by young people. At present, the development of fashion brand T-shirt system is perfect in Europe, America and Japan. But the design of fashion brand T-shirt has been only in a preliminary way in China. And the domestic fashion brand T-shirt design also has some shortcomings to face the domestic young consumers.This paper starts from the summary of the Chinese and foreign fashion brand T-shirt design and an incomplete statistics of the domestic young consumer preferences for T-shirt design. According to the need of discussion, the fashion brand T-shirt design is divided in2aspects:Style and Pattern. Then through the comparative study in order to find out the defects of the domestic fashion brand T-shirt design. Finally, this paper puts forward the possibility suggestion of the domestic fashion brand T-shirt design. This paper draws the conclusion as follows:1. This paper finds there are some differences in the emphasis of the fashion brand T-shirt design between Eastern and Western. Europe and America focus on the pattern design. And Japan puts more emphasis on style details instead of simple pattern. In China, the fashion brand T-shirt design style is closer to that of Japan. Most of the famous domestic fashion brand T-shirts are founded by Stars and Artists.2. This paper finds that because of the different aesthetic between Eastern and Western, the fashion brand T-shirt style is also different. The style design of Europe and America gives the first place to Ms. T-shirts. And the overall style of which are like to be sexy. Japanese fashion brand T-shirt pays more attention to meet Asian body, and they are good at using the different material and splicing reorganization. The style design of domestic fashion brand T-shirt is uneven development between male and female. There is a big gap in ladies T-shirt design. While the men’s T-shirt style changes is also not rich. There is little difference between the different domestic fashion brand T-shirt.3. Based on the comparative study of pattern design of the fashion brand T-shirt, this paper finds that there are some differences between foreign and domestic design in LOGO, themes and skills. Europe and America fashion brand T-shirt always has a high degree of recognition LOGO. The designed pattern is full and rich with color. The combination of the different culture symbols are always used in a T-shirt picture and the expression of which shows a strong visual impact. They are like to use the themes with graffiti, rock, music, military and so on. Japanese LOGO is obviously full of national style. They like to draw inspiration from abundant folk culture as the pattern design theme. And they are good at integrate the pattern design into the society popular emotions. To some extend, domestic LOGO is designed with its national feature. But it’s hard to see the domestic specific characters from the popular choices of pattern themes. And the style of Logo design is not clear. The ability of grasping the distinguishing feature popular emotions in the Chinese society is not strong.According to the above conclusions, and combined with the domestic consumers preferences for T-shirt style, this paper also puts forward the possibility suggestion as follows:1. The overall style of the domestic fashion brand T-shirt design should be in line with the eastern aesthetic, which could be simple fashion.2. The fashion design ideal should be specific to each element of a T-shirt detail design.3. To grasp the new consumption culture and increase the national element in the design of both style and pattern.4. To increase the domestic fashion brand visual stimulus to our young consumers not only in the "quantity" but also in "degree".5. To improve the designers’ability of the accurate grasping of the distinguishing feature emotions in our society in order to increase the originality and nationality of the domestic fashion brand clothing.
