Given China’s remarkable economic growth and foreign enterprise friendly reforms policy have attracted multinational high-end luxury brands to establish their presence at cities in China to penetrate the market. Many global fashion designer brands try to make a progressive expansion of their business in Chinese fashion market, but Chinese Fashion designer brands are still in the immature stage. Therefore, it is essential to study about the fashion designer brands in various angles, not only to activate domestic designer brands in Chinese fashion market, but also to spark them growth into the global fashion brands for the fair competition with overseas fashion brands.Fashion industry and designer brands have been developed by assembling various factors. In other words, the development of those factors can make the development of fashion designer brand successfully, and those factors can be divided into two parts, internal factors and external factors. This article focuses on the importance of external factors.This study investigated external factors for Chinese and Korean fashion designer brand developments, it is divided into five chapters, at first, introduce current research, study background and significance. After that the chapter two is about fashion histories of China and South Korea, focused on the formation and development process of their fashion designer brand. Throughout analyzing their fashion histories, look for the external factor which is big influence to designer brand development:Fashion higher education, Fashion association, Fashion week, Fashion design competition. Then in the third chapter, in accordance with the situation of the two countries, compare and analyze those external factors. Finally, on the basis of comparative analysis data, present future direction of the external factors.First of all, for developing Fashion higher education, teaching programs should be become more abundance and professional to offer more opportunities to students, moreover to improve educational effectiveness of school, it needs appropriate connection with fashion industries. Second, for developing fashion association, needs to merge decentralized association, and according to designers’ economic capacities or experiences, supports them as differentiated programs. And for developing Fashion week, it needs improved distribution system and political support based on designer’s creative design and concept. Lastly for developing fashion design competition, it should be held as various ways to discover a talented person in various application field of fashion industry, moreover support them with various incentives.In conclusion, if the development factors for fashion designer brand improve, China and South Korea designer brands can successfully step into the global fashion market and can possess global fashion designer brands which are perfectly positioned to international level.
