Wire cut Electrical Discharge Machining (WEDM) Numerical Control (NC) automatic programming and precision control are both noteworthy respects of current industry. This project aims to develop a system which can study and actualize WEDM NC programming,3D simulation and related control technology. The main development work of the project and the functions which belong to the system are as follows: firstly, opening and reading graphics file have been actualized.3D model graphics can be displayed, at the same time, model information can be extracted. Secondly,3D-2D graph transformation can be used.3D model graphics can be converted into2D graphics. Thirdly, NC automatic programming has been achieved. The G-code under different processing conditions and process requirements can be outputted. Users can get G-code of multiple and different direction processing. Fourthly, the human-computer interaction technology has been introduced, so that graphics can be selected and identified, in this way, starting point of processing can be identified yet. Users can also move, rotate and scale the3D model conveniently. Fifthly, the system has actualized linear cutting simulation processing and real-time detection of the coordinate information. Acquisition of the processing information in order to detect information dynamically is the important content of this project. Sixthly, the control of processing speed has been actualized. System can analyze the current processing status and control the processing by dynamic feedback. On this basis, the system can achieve a variety of processing speed control mode, such as speed control for the poor class model processing, various types of corners of the model and model which has the arc characteristics. By the system development work, this project has actualized linear cutting simulation. Users can observe processing status and analyze processing information by combining actual WEDM. This project strives to build up a basis for improving processing accuracy and efficiency in the future.
