Peony has high ornamental value, edible and medicinal value, Peony seeds can be made into Peony Seed Oil. In2011,The Ministry of Health issued Notice No.9and approved Peony Seed Oil as new resource food. So its storage conditons need more research.This study compared the differences in Peony seed oil between common edible vegetable oils including sunflower oil, peanut oil, camellia seed oil, corn oil in terms of the physical and chemical properties; analysed the composition of the Peony seed oil by GC-MS and made comparison of fatty acid differences between Peony seed oil and the above-mentioned four kinds of edible oils. The results showed:linolenic acid content of41-46%, the linoleic acid content of19-27%, oleic acid content of15-23%. Compared with the other four edible oils,Peony seed oil has the highest content of linolenic acid, the other is of less than1%. Through being storaged at different temperature and light conditions and deteming the peroxide value and acid value of oils every8days, peony seed oil was indicated relatively better to be storaged under the condition of room temperature2℃and avoid from light. By measuring the UV absorbance of the peony seed oil and the other four edible oild,it can be demonstrated that peony seed oil provide a good sunscreen.The study provide the theoretical basis of finding the best storage conditions and preservation method, also provide some guidance and recommendations for the industrialization of the peony seed...
