Embedded and co-cured composite damping structure is a novel dampingprocessing structure, which possesses excellent specific strength and specific stiffness.Compared with the traditional damping structure, the damping layer of this structure isco-cured into the composite material, which protects it from the influence of externalenvironment. Therefore this structure has many advantages over a free dampingstructure and a constrained damping structure, such as anti-aging, not desquamationand long-life, etc. The embedded and co-cured composite damping structure can bewidely applied in many high-tech fields, such as aerospace, high-speed train, etc.Supported by the National Nature Science Foundation, the research on dampingperformance and impact performance of embedded and co-cured composite dampingstructure is completed by experiments and numerical simulations. The innovation is asfollows:(1) The effects of thickness, number and location of damping layers on dampingperformance of embedded and co-cured composite damping structure are investigatedsystematically.(2) Impact performance of the embedded and co-cured composite dampingstructures is studied by using the Drop-weight Impact Equipment and the behaviorunder impact of the embedded and co-cured composite damping structure is recorded.(3) The finite element impact model of embedded and co-cured compositedamping structure is built and used to simulate the impact failure process. Thenumerical results are in good agreement with the experiments.
