Shahe City is located in east margin of the Taihang Mountain and the westernmargin of the Hebei plains. In recent years, frequent geological disasters occurredwith the intensification of human engineering activities, and bring serious threat to thesafety of people’s lives and property. We fully collect the natural geographical and geological environment data ofShahe city. On the basis of these data and field investigations of the geologicaldisaster point, we analyze characteristics of geological hazards and formationmechanism. Using GIS-based spatial analysis capabilities, we plot geologicaldisaster-prone zone of Shahe City. The final partition results are basically consistentwith the actual situation. The content of this study includes:(1) the developmentcharacteristics of the geological disasters in Shahe, distribution and formationconditions. Main types of geological disasters in Shahe are landslides, avalanches, landslides, ground subsidence; domestic and geological disasters concentrated in thehilly region, the plain area disaster scarce geographical distribution characteristics, aswell as the township distribution is very uneven; development characteristics are mass, sudden and periodic.(2) According to the four evaluation criteria of geologicaldisaster-prone division, ie. high-prone, prone, low-prone and easy to four, we selectthe formation lithology, slope, rainfall, human engineering activities to evaluate Shahegeological disaster-prone zoning index system. We determine the weights of theevaluation factors with expert scoring method. We get geological disaster-pronezoning map in Shahe using the GIS spatial analysis functions.(3) We achievegeological hazard partitioning after we piling up the partition results and geologicalhazards harmful levels.(4)Geological disaster countermeasures:according to thedistrict results of Shahe city’s geological hazards-prone,Shahe city’s countermeasuresand control of the proposed measures.
