Wen county, where is geological disasters’damaged was critical one of the regions in Gansu Provincial, the development of geological structure and earthquake. Human engineering activities affect the deteriorating geological environment. The problem of geological disasters is one of the most important factors which affect the economy development of Wen county. It is crucial to enhance the geological environmental management and draw up sustainable development strategy of geological disasters prevention.Nowadays, there are lots of people studying risk assessment of geological disasters is too much, and most of them emphasize on theory. So there is much space to explore in risk assessment model. The paper combine GIS technology and Analytic Hierarchy Process to assess the risk of slope geological disasters and do research on risk management. The purpose of the study is to diminish the occurrence of geological disasters and protect people and their property.Based on the data collected and the actual survey, the paper deeply analyzes the formation conditions and mechanism of geological disasters in Wen county. The research show that Wen county of geological disasters frequently, and various types of disasters is appears. The geological disasters mainly occurs in the valley sides the White Dragon River and Whitewater River and the years of concentrated rainfall and earthquake. Researches of the influence factors show that earthquake secondary geological disasters easily occur in the areas of weak strata, rock broken, valleys development, large gradient, heavy concentration rain and it is also easily happened in mountainous climate and human activities effected large areas.Currently the risk assessment model of geological disasters has a certain degree of exploratory, so introduce the Analytic Hierarchy Process model to risk assessment. Geological disasters of Wen county evaluation and vulnerability assessment by the normalization method. Superimposed on the basis of risk and vulnerability assessment to make the Wen county geological disaster risk assessment.Based on the result of the Analytic Hierarchy Process risk assessment model, the paper divide and evaluate the study zone from the point of geological disasters in Wen county. The study show that the geological disasters is rather serious in Wen county, the Highly risk area account for16.5%, the mediumrisk49.36%, lowrisk34.14%.The study fundamentally build the risk management system. The system can provide guidance to the management of Wen county geological disasters and demonstrate the geological disasters risk management system building for other region.
