Geological hazard is always one of the major natural hazards facingthe world. Our country, especially, is a geological disaster-prone countrysince that the number of the places where various geological hazardhappened each year has reached almost ten thousand, which had caused adirect economic loss of tens even hundreds billion Yuan. In order toreduce the loss caused by geological hazard and ensure the safety ofpeople and their property, our country has carried out many investigationwork of geological hazard and established the concerning geologicalenvironment database. At present, the overall level of geologicalenvironment data management is still relatively low in our country, especially in the lever of city and county, where most managementmethod still remains traditional file type. The traditional data management method cannot meet the need of geological environmentdata management due to the rapid development of GIS technology, whichis promoting the innovation of geological environment data management. The geological hazards data, which has mickle kind of information, largeamounts of data, wide distribution and strong timeliness, containsgeological digital information and multi-faceted graphics such as geology, topography, remote sensing and program, corresponding with lots oftextual material for those data. The problem that how to organize, manageand integrate these multi-source data effectively to do the analysis andevaluation has been the emphasis in the current research of informationtechnology using in the management of geological hazard. The studiesregion of this thesis (Guangyuan city)has always been the geologicalhazard-prone area, where "5.12" Wenchuan earthquake happened, bringing big change of geological structure and environment to Longmenmountain and Michangshan mountain, which had caused multipliednumber of hidden points. The GEMIS based on WebGIS for Guangyuancity was established to help protecting and making use of geologyenvironment, preventing the geological hazard and protecting the safetyof people and public property. This thesis, based on the actual situation of the GIS characteristicand the application of geological environment data, proposes the basicmethod of construction for the construction of geological environment database management platform. On the basis of unified coding andunified storage of Multi-source information data of geological disasters, the database is designed to three parts including basic geographicdatabase, geological disaster database and non-spatial database. Based onthe analysis of system function and data, after the comparison of varioustechnical programs and software platforms, the system storage geologicalhazards data in oracle and package the access information data throughnetwork data services with web service technology. The map provided bythis system is not generated in real time but the tile map which is trimmedwell in advance. The system put large amounts of business dataprocessing on the client-side, which can realize a good load-balancing. Inthe research of this paper, the main content and the achievements are asfollows:(1)On the basis of collecting and finishing the basic geographicdata, geological data and geological hazards data of Guangyuan city, using the technology of GIS,RS and the technology surveying andmapping, the system has realized the integration of multi-source data ofgeological disasters of Guangyuan City, and the construction of spatialdatabase of geological disasters with the use of the technology of spatialdatabase.(2)The geological environment database system of GuangyuanCity was designed and developed by using the powerful capabilities of spatial data organization and analysis of GIS and Internet technology. Thesystem achieved the sharing of the spatial geographical information andgeological information, as well as scientific and efficient managementand application of geological hazard information.
